warehousing

RRT 3PL offers warehousing solutions customized to our client’s specific needs and business requirements. Whether you need short-term storage or a cross-dock terminal, we can accommodate your needs.

The warehousing process may seem simple since it mainly involves leaving products in storage. Several processes are involved to ensure it works efficiently, and inventory can move in and out quickly.

Capacity planning

Space is a critical resource. Therefore, when a shipment of products is expected, staff need to plan where to store the product. In this way, we make the most efficient use of the space.

Receiving inbound shipments

When products arrive at the warehouse, staff will need to receive them and carefully move them to a staging area for further processing.

Storing products short tream

After receiving and processing products, it is time to store them. It can involve putting the products in bins and pallets. Afterward, use the moving equipment to transport them to their appropriate storage space.

Reorganizing

As new products are brought in, existing inventory may need to be moved to ensure the whole space is most efficiently utilized. Some changes need to be tracked and updated in the inventory management systems.

Controlling climate

Depending on the nature of the products, some factors like temperature, humidity, or pressure may need to be kept constant. For example, frozen products will need to be stored in areas where the temperature is below freezing. These are requirements for storing products within the facilities to ensure good quality.

Retrieving and outbound shipping

Finally, when products need to go out of the warehouse for shipment, staff must retrieve, process, package, load, and then release them from inventory to allow space for new inbound products.
